terra, Limassol
Our design for the Terra project consists of 10 luxury apartments, on top of a double-height commercial plinth — very suitable for a club or restaurant — on the coast of Limassol, Cyprus. With the design we focus on blending an elegant and unique tower into a recreational beach area, close to the sea and part of the holiday and entertainment zone of the city.
Terra is located on the coast of Limassol, east of the city center.

The concept consists of a set of completely unique villas stacked on top of each other. One luxury apartment occupies each floor. To fully enhance the living experience on this scenic location, we propose a 360-degree open and panoramic floor plan on every level.
The white curved facades create an optimistic, sophisticated, light and natural appearance that clearly underlines the unique plasticity of the different sky villas
To maximize this concept, we designed a structural scheme with slender columns in the facade line, and floor plates spanning between the columns and core. By adding a private swimming pool, a small garden and a generous terrace in different positions to the standard plan on every floor, we are able to shape all floors into unique forms, together forming a set of horizontal clouds. The glazed facade elements between the structural horizontal plates can be fully opened, transforming the apartment into an ‘indoor-outside’ space, with direct access to the private pool, garden and terrace. Thus the interior of the apartments is dominated by its panoramic space, and smooth transitions between the different spaces.

The standard size of all apartments is 165 m2, including approximately 25 m2 of covered balcony space, and 3 smaller non-covered outside spaces. With the restaurant on the ground floor, the total area adds up to around 1.800 m2.
In the choice of building materials, we aim to blend in with the ‘beach culture’ of Limassol. The white curved facades create an optimistic, sophisticated, light and natural appearance that clearly underlines the unique plasticity of the different sky villas. Windows are fully glazed and fully openable as curtain walls, for the optimal summer feeling.
